Belle Glade, FL – May 7, 2025 — A 27-year-old Belle Glade man has died following a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan on Saturday night, May 3, 2025, at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and SW 8th Street.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 10:59 p.m. when Joel Trfoya, riding a 2020 Yamaha dirtbike, was traveling westbound in the left lane of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. At the same time, a 2013 Chrysler 300 driven by Jeffrey Jean, 21, was headed eastbound and attempted to make a left turn onto SW 8th Street.
As Jean turned left, the front of Trfoya’s dirtbike collided with the front passenger fender of the Chrysler. The impact ejected Trfoya from the dirtbike and threw him into the windshield of the car.
Both Trfoya and the dirtbike came to final rest on the north side of the intersection. The Chrysler came to a stop in the northbound lane of SW 8th Street.

Trfoya was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on May 6, 2025.
Investigators confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not involved, and charges are pending further review. Next of kin have been notified.
