Boca Raton, FL – The Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County is pleased to announce Joan Oliva, Executive Director of Lake Worth Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, will receive the organization’s 2025 Housing Heroes Award. This honor will be presented at the 3rd Annual Housing Heroes Luncheon on May 14, 2025, at the Kravis Center Cohen Pavilion.
For more than 17 years, Oliva’s leadership of the Lake Worth Beach CRA has been instrumental in attracting investors and developers and acquiring underutilized and vacant properties for innovative and conscientious development. Oliva has been critical in securing and managing the Lake Worth Beach CRA Attainable Housing Project.

She is keenly aware of the importance of partnering with the city, the County, local and state lawmakers, and non-profits to create more affordable housing opportunities throughout the community. Oliva’s leadership exemplifies dedication to maintaining the character of the city, responding to community needs and encouraging sustainable economic growth to improve the quality of life for all Lake Worth Beach residents.
Last year’s Housing Heroes Award Winner West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James will present the award to Oliva at the ceremony on May 14th that will be held between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at 701 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach.
Other awards to be handed out at the ceremony in May include the Not-for-Profit Housing Hero, the For-Profit Housing Hero, and the Housing Impact Award.
