Lake Worth, FL – A tragic accident at the intersection of Jog Road and Lantana Road on February 28, 2025, has claimed the life of a pedestrian. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) Traffic Division is actively investigating the incident, which resulted in a fatality nearly two weeks after the crash.

According to the official report, at approximately 10:27 PM, a 2023 Toyota Corolla, driven by Sara Sanma (DOB: 01/31/2005), was heading northbound in the center lane on Jog Road. At the same time, Jeffrey Jennings (DOB: 11/11/1987), a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the road south of the intersection, outside a designated crosswalk.
Jennings walked into the vehicle’s path, violating the right of way. The front of the Toyota Corolla struck him, causing him to be propelled onto the hood and windshield before rolling over the vehicle’s roof and landing in the right lane.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Jennings to a local hospital in critical condition. Tragically, on March 10, 2025, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Investigation & Findings
- The driver, Sara Sanma, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
- No alcohol or drug impairment was found on her part.
- Seatbelt use was confirmed for the driver, and no injuries were reported for her.
- Jennings was confirmed to be homeless, and authorities are working to gather further details about his background.
- No criminal charges have been filed as of now, but the case remains under review.
