At approximately 8:57 PM, a 2013 Ford Taurus, driven by Jazmin Marie Shope, was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on South Military Trail. The vehicle collided with a 2017 Genesis G90, driven by James Lawrence Rose, which was attempting a left turn into the Polo Club Shops.

The impact caused significant damage to the Genesis, forcing the vehicle off the road, where it struck a concrete utility pole. The Ford Taurus also veered off the road and came to a stop against the shrub line, where it caught fire. Tragically, all four occupants of the Genesis were pronounced dead at the scene:

  • James Lawrence Rose, 88, driver
  • Gerald A. Levy, 92, front right passenger
  • Thelma Illson Levy, 93, rear left passenger
  • Arlene Rose, 87, rear right passenger

Both occupants of the Ford Taurus, Jazmin Marie Shope and Ethan Ryan Litman, were transported to Delray Medical Center with serious injuries. Shope was wearing a seatbelt, and Litman, also restrained, sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition.
