BELLE GLADE, FL – A motorcyclist who suffered critical injuries in a traffic crash in Belle Glade has died, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).

The crash occurred at approximately 4:21 p.m. on March 15, 2025, at the intersection of US Highway 27 and Corkscrew Boulevard in Belle Glade.
According to the PBSO Traffic Division report, a 2021 Toyota C-HR, driven by Jorge Dubiel Gonzalez Triana, was traveling westbound on US Highway 27, approaching a stop sign to cross the eastbound lanes at Corkscrew Boulevard.
At the same time, a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 motorcycle, driven by Martin David Applebaum, was traveling eastbound on US Highway 27 in the inner through lane.

Triana failed to yield the right of way and entered the path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the passenger rear tire of the Toyota, causing the Toyota to rotate clockwise away from the impact area. The motorcycle came to a stop at the point of impact, while Applebaum was thrown from the bike and landed on the roadway east of the crash site.
Injury and Death
Applebaum was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with critical injuries. On March 19, 2025, at 4:38 p.m., Applebaum succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
