Driver Sentenced in Fatal Boca Raton Crash on SW 18th Street and Boca Rio Road

A tragic collision on August 26, 2022, at the intersection of SW 18th Street and Boca Rio Road in Boca Raton has led to a harsh sentence for the driver responsible for the devastating incident.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), Richard Daniel Dorfman, driving a 2020 Tesla, was traveling westbound at high speed when he failed to notice a motorcycle ahead. The Tesla struck the motorcycle from behind, causing Ingrid Eva Noon, 51, to be violently ejected from her bike and onto the vehicle’s windshield. Despite rapid transport to Delray Medical Center, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

After a comprehensive investigation, Dorfman pled guilty to charges of Vehicular Homicide on February 11, 2025. The court imposed the following sentence:

  • 🏛️ 24 months in state prison
  • 📜 7 years of probation
  • 🚔 18 months of Community Control Level 2
  • 💪 200 hours of community service
  • 💵 $200 cost of prosecution
  • 🚫 Driver’s license suspended for 3 years
