RATON,
Fla.,

2025

South
Florida
residents
should
prepare
for
another
round
of
afternoon
heat
and
isolated
to
scattered
thunderstorms
on

Memorial
Day
,
with
elevated
chances
of
strong
storms
expected
to
continue
through
the
early
part
of
the
week.
While
no
watches
or
warnings
are
currently
in
effect,
the

National
Weather
Service
(NWS)
Miami

warns
that

storms
today
and
Monday
could
bring
strong
wind
gusts
and
small
hail
,
especially
across
the
interior
and
southwest
portions
of
the
region.

Sunday
Afternoon
and
Evening

Convection
is
already
beginning
to
develop
as

sea
breezes
push
inland
.
Storm
coverage
will
be
greatest
in

interior
and
southwest
South
Florida
,
where
the
two
sea
breezes
collide.
A
few

strong
to
severe
storms

are
possible,
with
the

main
threats
being
damaging
wind
gusts

and

small
hail

early
in
storm
formation.
Frequent
lightning
and
brief
heavy
rainfall
may
also
accompany
stronger
cells.

Memorial
Day
(Monday,
May
26)

Expect

hot
and
humid
conditions
,
with
highs
reaching

upper
80s
to
low
90s
.
Heat
indices
could
exceed

100°F
,
especially
in
inland
and
southwestern
zones.
While
thunderstorm
development
will
again
favor
the
interior,

metro
areas
like
Boca
Raton
could
still
see
passing
storms

due
to
drifting
outflows.

Storm
threat
on
Monday
will
be
slightly
lower

compared
to
Sunday,
as
high
pressure
and
warming
upper-level
temperatures
begin
to
limit
widespread
severe
development.
Still,

localized
thunderstorms
remain
likely
in
the
afternoon
.

The
Week
Ahead

From

Tuesday
through
Saturday
,
South
Florida
will
remain
under
a

weak
ridge
pattern
,
promoting

typical
afternoon
thunderstorm
activity

driven
by

sea
breeze
interactions
.
While
the
strongest
storms
will
likely
remain
inland,

coastal
areas

including
the
East
Coast
metro
corridor

could
see
brief
downpours
or
gusty
winds

due
to
outflow
boundaries.

Later
in
the
week,
forecasters
are
monitoring
a

developing
low-pressure
system
over
the
central
U.S.
,
which
could
shift
moisture
and
instability
toward
our
region
by
the
weekend.
Although
details
remain
uncertain,
models
hint
at
a

wetter,
more
unstable
pattern

taking
shape
as
we
head
into
June.
