The special field trip is part of Arts Garage’s Spring Family Series, which will introduce more than 500 students from two Title I schools in Delray Beach to the world of live performance—many for the very first time. The goal? To inspire creativity and expand access to the arts for local youth.

Today’s featured production was Garden State, an original children’s play by Sam Hamashima, directed by Arts Garage’s own Michelle Diaz. After the show, the Kindergarten through fifth grade students had the chance to ask the cast questions.

These transformative experiences are made possible through the generous support of the Virginia and Harvey Kimmel Family Foundation via the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

“We’re thrilled to give these students the opportunity to experience live theater in such an intimate and engaging setting,” said Marjorie Waldo, President & CEO of Arts Garage. “Thanks to the continued support of the Kimmel Foundation, we’re helping young people discover new ways to express themselves—because exposure to the arts can truly change the course of a child’s life.”
