Day One: This Afternoon and Tonight

Rip Currents: A high risk of rip currents is in effect for Palm Beach and Broward County beaches, including Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach. Miami-Dade and Collier County beaches face a moderate risk. Rip currents are powerful, narrow channels of fast-moving water that can pull swimmers away from the shore.
Safety Tips for Beachgoers:
- Swim only at beaches with lifeguards on duty.
- Pay attention to posted warning flags and signs.
- If caught in a rip current, remain calm and do not fight the current. Swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current, then swim back to the beach.
- Never swim alone, and keep a close eye on children and inexperienced swimmers.
Marine Conditions: Hazardous marine conditions will continue through tonight for the Atlantic waters. Boaters should exercise extreme caution and consider postponing trips until conditions improve.

Fire Weather: Critical fire weather conditions are expected over Southeast Florida through early this evening due to low relative humidity (RH) values and northerly winds of 10-15 mph. Critically low RH values are also expected over Southwest Florida.
Safety Tips for Fire Weather:
- Avoid outdoor burning or activities that could spark a fire.
- Dispose of cigarettes properly and avoid parking vehicles on dry grass.
- Report any signs of fire immediately to local authorities.
Smoke: Patchy smoke and reduced visibility are possible in portions of far southern Miami-Dade and Mainland Monroe Counties due to actively burning wildfires.

Safety Tips for Smoke:
- Limit outdoor activities if smoke is present.
- Keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke from entering your home.
- Use air purifiers if available.
Days Two Through Seven: Saturday Through Thursday
The elevated risk of rip currents is expected to continue for all South Florida beaches into the upcoming weekend and potentially into next week. Beachgoers should remain cautious when entering the water.
Spotter Information Statement
Spotter activation is not expected at this time. However, residents are encouraged to report any significant weather conditions, such as fires, strong winds, or flooding, to local authorities or the National Weather Service.
